Fat does not make fat (thick)
Nowadays it is suggested in the media that fat makes you fat. For example, nowadays everything is light and packaging with ''is only ...% fat''. However, your body thrives on healthy fats. Fats from cheese, yogurt, quark and other '' products '' are just that healthy. This also comes from nuts and coconut oil. You are also dealing with saturated fat, is saturated fat unhealthy? According to many, such as ''Het Voedingscentrum'' from Holland, this is true, but others, including me, we are not convinced. You can learn more about this in the dutch video below. 'Het Voedingscentrum' says that if you replace saturated fat with unsaturated fat, it will reduce LDL cholesterol and the risk of cardiovascular disease. That is certainly not true. Why substitute coconut oil or raw nuts, these are really healthy!
Unhealthy fats against healthy fats
Obviously there is a difference between healthy fats and unhealthy fats. Transfats such as in fried chips are of course not healthy. You also have fats such as margarine, low-fat margarine and sunflower oil. These are processed foods and certainly not the best choice. Choose coconut oil is very healthy and you can cook with it very good. From my own experience I know that this is a better choice, because it has been shown that you can heat it up to a high temperature without losing the essential nutrients.
The ketogenic diet
The diet that I strongly support focuses mainly on healthy fats. The body and brain are very good at handling fats. In this diet you eat 50% to 70% fat. Healthy fats does not make you fat! What makes you fat then? Those are sugars and carbohydrates. If you eat a lot of weak bread, weak rice, weak pasta, cookies, sweets and other carbohydrate-rich products, these will make you gain weight.
